Bradbury com gosto de Neil Gaiman
Quando se menciona o nome Ray Bradbury, é quase automático que o coloquemos naquela prateleira de escritores de ficção científica que trabalhavam feito condenados nos anos 50 e 60, produzindo livros a rodo. Ato falho, porque o velho Ray nunca se considerou um autor de ficção científica – essa fama vem do fato de ter sido tirado do gueto pulp para o mainstream por um diretor cult que dirigiu o único livro que ele admitia ser do gênero (quando Truffaut adaptou Fahrenheint 451 em 1966). Até mesmo sua clássica saga Crônicas Marcianas, ele prefere rotular como fantasia, uma vez que ela não tem embasamento científico algum. Este Algo Sinistro Vem Por Aí, de 1962 (o segundo volume de sua trilogia Green Town), só agora publicado no Brasil, é um ótimo exemplar deste outro Bradbury. O livro conta a história de dois pré-adolescentes amigos de infância (Jim Nightshade e William Halloway) e como sua vida começa a ser mudada com a chegada de um parque de diversões dark à sua cidade, que, ao mexer com a vaidade das pessoas, torna a vida local mais tensa e bizarra. Equilibrando com perfeição fantasia e horror, este Bradbury é para fãs de Neil Gaiman e Harry Potter – tanto em temática quanto em abordagem.

MUSICA FORMOSA: TAIWAN INDIES
They say that Taiwan has the largest species of exotic flowers in Asia and, as we discovered last spring, the same can be said about it's music scene. From our trip we chose three bands that form a mini-sampler. From the youthful pangs of Bad Daughter (WWR), to the pop genre hopping sound in Nipples (WWR), and the loungy duo Natural Q (A Good Day), we hope dispite of the language barrier thier music will lead you in search of other exotic blooms from this small island. This, despite the fact that reviews, critiques and essays over the decades say that is precisely what it is all about. Even Bradbury’s authorized biographer, Sam Weller, in The Bradbury Chronicles, refers to Fahrenheit 451 as a book about censorship.
Bradbury, a man living in the creative and industrial center of reality TV and one-hour dramas, says it is, in fact, a story about how television destroys interest in reading literature.
